A Letter to a Benefactor

Dear Dorothy,

I received your donation and your letter, which described your recent hardships when your home burned to the ground. I feel compelled to reply.

Over the years, my colleagues and I at CHAP have made many appeals for our impoverished brothers and sisters in Haiti. I have felt privileged to act as the hands and heart of Our Lord, in doing what He has called me to do. I have often felt like an honored spectator, admiring the results of the work which He has done through us.

I have been absolutely overwhelmed to see the outpouring of generosity of Americans for poor people they will never meet. I am regularly heartened by so many kind souls who make monthly contributions of $20 from limited budgets.

I have been given the unique opportunity to witness the effects which our scholarship program has had on hundreds of impoverished children.

So, I want to thank you for your committed devotion to help us to do the work of God in the country of Haiti. I know that rich rewards await you, when you see Him face to face.

God bless,

Dr. Bill Greene
